The Reef Restaurant of Long Beach Wedding
The Reef Restaurant of Long Beach in Southern California is where German and Lidia got married. Of course, we all know that the day begins hours before the ceremony. We visited the girls and guys at the Marriott hotel as they were getting ready.
Wouldn’t you agree that you are never too old to have mother help you in your wedding dress? 🙂
As the ladies were celebrating with champagne, the guys were also getting ready and a shot of whiskey was welcomed to calm the nerves. These guys didn’t have to worry about grooming their long hair and putting on makeup. They finished before the girls and we got to take a few photos of them enjoying each others company in the hotel.
As we were taking portraits of German, Lidia snuck up behind him and you could see the excitement in his face. Finally! He can admire his girl with no one else around.
The Ceremony and Reception
After having their first look in the sunny city, we walked down to the Reef and lined up for the ceremony to begin. The ceremony took place on top of the restaurant overlooking the ocean with Long Beach as a backdrop.
Their wedding was short but intensely emotional. It’s always hard to hold back tears when they write their own vows. Even as their photographers! 🙂
Surrounded by their best people, now officially Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez have a lot to celebrate.

Their first dance was only the beginning of the night. Oh, and guess what? They also had awesome salsa. No, not the one you eat with chips. They had a salsa band that made everyone get up and party!
Before ending the night we were able to sneak away for 5 minutes and take a few photos with the city lights behind them. Long Beach has been good to them and if you read their story below you will see why.
Their Story:
Would you agree that life would be different without Instagram and mutual friends? German and Lidia sure do! In fact, it greatly altered their future. After attending a mutual friend’s party one night they became Instagram friends following and commenting on their daily posts. When they saw each other again in person it felt as if they knew one another and German asked Lidia for her number. After hanging out a few times they knew that there was a lot more than just friendship between the two and could easily spend hours together. As time went by German knew that he had found the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. He thought about Lidia a lot. On one of their dates in the city of Long Beach he asked her “will you marry me?” The answer was easy. 100 times yes! The city in which they spent their first day as an engaged couple welcomed them once again as husband and wife as they declared their personal vows in front of family and friends at the Reef in Long Beach.
